The Booking Process

  • Please get in touch via my contact page to check that I’m available for your date and feel free to ask any questions which might be helpful for you. Whether you are keen to book me, or still deciding, I’d love to organise a 15-20 minutes Zoom call to say hello - it would be lovely to find out a wee bit about you both and your wedding day plans and I can take you through my process.

  • If you’re happy to go ahead with booking me - yay! - I will officially secure your date following payment of a non-refundable booking fee.

  • Between booking and the wedding day, feel free to get in touch if and when you need to. I’m happy to chat through any questions and always delighted to recommend other suppliers if you’re still on the hunt for MUA, florists, caterers etc…

  • Between 2-4 weeks before the wedding day, I’ll organise another call with you so we can iron out any last details. I will also send over a wedding questionnaire which helps me organise timings/ requests for group photographs and any other useful information to help the day run smoothly! The final payment is due a week prior to the wedding date at the latest.

The Wedding Day

Weddings are all different and certain moments can happen at different times in the day. Ultimately, when I begin photographing and when I finish is entirely up to you. I always work to capture the moments which are most important to you. Bearing this in mind, I’ve included a rough timeline below of how I work during the day.

Bridal/ Groom Prep
I often arrive 2 hours prior to the ceremony to photograph beautiful detail shots of outfits, jewellery and accessories as well as the bridal prep. If the bride is getting ready close to/ at the wedding venue I will make sure to capture lots of lovely detail shots of the venue, floral displays and dining area in the morning too.

Ceremony
I will arrive at the ceremony ahead of the bride and will photograph discreetly at the front of the room during the first half of the ceremony and then will move to the back for the second half. This is often dependent on how much space there is or if the venue has particular requirements (i.e church ceremonies).

Confetti / Group and Couple Portraits
A confetti throw is always a fun moment to capture following the ceremony. I’m more than happy to help organise your guests for this. All group shots will be organised through the questionnaire prior to the wedding day to make sure we can go through this in a timely way and your guests aren’t hanging around - and you can all get back to canapes and champagne! I would recommend at least 15-20 minutes for the couple portraits where we can head to your favourite spots and take some very relaxed but fun photos. If weather and time permits, I often take couples for another short portrait shoot after dinner (think gorgeous sunsets in late summer) when you both tend to be a bit more relaxed in anticipation for the evening party. It’s also a perfect time to enjoy some personal time together away from the guests.

Reception
The easy-peasy bit where you get to catch up with all your guests and I capture shots of lovely moments between friends and family.

Speeches
Dependant on space, I will move around to make sure I catch the best moments of both guests and the top table.

Wedding Dinner
No one likes photos of them munching. I’ll take a break here and let you enjoy your meal whilst I enjoy mine!

Cake Cutting, First dance and Ceilidh/ Party
I personally believe the evening is the best time to capture fun photos of guests (especially once people have had a glass of wine or two!). I will stay until I feel I’ve captured enough photos of you and your guests having the best time on the dancefloor. This is usually at least 5 tunes in - honestly I love it!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do you deliver the photographs?
Around 4-6 weeks after the wedding, you will receive a link to a password protected online gallery. The digital gallery is a great way to share your wedding memories with all your guests and perhaps those that couldn’t make it. As well as being able to download photographs from the gallery, you can also order high quality print products.
Once you’ve had a good look through the gallery, I will ask that you select 30 of your favourite photographs for printing The 6x4” prints will be displayed in a beautiful wood and linen keepsake box and posted out to you.

We’re not that comfortable being in front of a camera, how can you help?
Yup, I understand - me too. I’m well known for my camera dodging. Most couples I work with feel similarly so you are definitely not alone. It’s really important for me that I make time for video calls with my couples as it helps form a relationship between us where I become more familiar to you and you feel more comfortable with me being part of your day. I never awkwardly pose people or force you to do overly romantic gestures and will always encourage you to be yourself whilst I photograph as this always creates the most honest, joyful photographs.

Should we book a 2nd photographer?
I have a network of wedding photographers who I work with and if you decide to book a 2nd photographer, I will look to see who is available for the date. A 2nd photographer is advisable if you are having a particularly large wedding, especially one in a large venue. You may also want 2 photographers in the morning, 1 to cover the bridal preparation, and another to cover the groom preparation. Another benefit is to allow for more general coverage on the day. Depending on timings and the nature of the venue, I may be unable to capture a large amount of candid photographs of your guests alongside group photographs and couple portraits. A 2nd photographer would be able to capture any additional venue, detail and candid photographs that I may not have time for.

Do you offer albums?
Yeah! Once you have received the digital gallery, you can favourite your preferred photographs for using in the album and I will put the final album together for you.

Do you have public liability insurance & back-up gear

Yes I have both.
